Your dog will definitely rov rem too!

About Cohiba's Beer-Bones

My dog Cohiba and I founded Beer-Bones in our very own home. One day while boiling a batch of home-brew, I started thinking about doggy-beer, but thought, "I shouldn't give my dog alcohol..." So instead, I began to use something I already had plenty of from the brewing process: GRAINS! The grains are the base to our delicious dogbone-shaped treat. Seriously, dogs love them and it is a lot of fun to share a "beer" with my best friend after a long day.

Our Process:

Brewing begins with a compilation of grains that are used to define what type of beer is being brewed. Listed below are a few examples of the grain that we use here at AMUK Brewing.

As with any brewing process, we begin with mixing crushed/milled grain with warm water. The water hydrates the starches in the grain and activates enzymes that convert the grain's starches into sugar that yeast can consume. After all the sugars have been extracted from the grain and drained off, we are left with large amounts of reusable grain which make a perfect base for our dog treats!

Our bones contain the following (*please check with your VET in case your animal has any allergies):

  • Spent brewing grains
  • Organic Peanut Butter
  • Organic Flour
  • Organic Eggs

All of our treats are baked to remove all moisture and contain NO preservatives.

Sampling of Grains used:

American Pale Malt Smooth, less grainy, moderate malt flavor. Basic malt for all beer styles.
Golden Promise Golden Promise is a multi use base malt, light base malt variety that can be used in place of 2 Row or Pilsner malt. It has a clean, somewhat sweet flavor. Golden Promise can be used in many beers, especially lighter beers like German Lager, Czech Pils. It also has a place in Belgian beers and the IPA style.
Briess Victory Malt With an aroma of baking Bread, Victory(r) Malt is great in Nut Brown Ales and other dark beers. Special processing develops the toasty, biscuity, baking bread, nutty flavors that are distinctive in Victory(r) Malt.
Briess Chocolate Malt Use in all beer styles for color adjustment. Use 1-10% for desired color in Porter and Stout Beer. The chocolate flavor is very complementary when used in higher percentages in Porters, Stouts, Brown Ales and other dark beers.
Flaked Maize Lightens body and color. For light American pilsners and ales.
Flaked Rice Imparts a light, crisp finish.
